The first event for the CMA was in July of 2000. It was a demonstration event to increase the awareness of the sport of Tae Kwon Do and the existence of CMA. Building upon the success of  that event, CMA began to have much greater impact within the martial arts community with numerous events that helped local communities such as charities, community festivals, Asian culture shows, and as well as participating in the Tae Kwon Do Junior Olympics.

After CMA changed the name from Chicago Yong In Martial Arts in 2006, it had its first tournament in 2007. It was very successful and changed the group so much in a positive way. CMA has so much opportunity to be successful because all of the masters and instructors realize that this is the time to work together.
